Once upon a time, there was a little girl who loved rabbits and kites and pink and all the enchantments of childhood. That little girl grew into an adult, but her heart continues to pitter-patter with the wonders of make-believe.

Schmooks was born out of artist and designer Claire Cimbora’s love of illustration and kids’ room decor. Claire’s whimsical world is perfectly showcased in her award-winning artworks and wall decals. Her enchanting range of timeless artwork is inspired by storybooks, fairytales and the sweetest of creatures.

From humble beginnings designing Christmas cards on a kitchen table in Canberra, the Schmooks magic now delights families the world over. Treasured in lovingly adorned bedrooms across the globe, Schmooks’ artwork and wall decals have been featured on cruise ships, The Block Shop, Neighbours, and Real Housewives of New York.

Meet Claire 

Hi, I’m Claire, the artist and designer behind Schmooks. 

Schmooks started in the way all good fairytales do… with a little bit of magic, a sprinkle of fairydust, and a dash of serendipity.

As I was preparing to welcome my first child, I decided to kiss goodbye the corporate world of graphic design and spend my days lost in a world of dreamy children’s’ illustrations. What started out as a few sales on Etsy quickly grew into something beyond my wildest dreams.

I hope to help adults remember the joy of childhood and give them a way to create this same joy in their child’s bedroom. My artworks are designed to nurture children’s imaginations and encourage them to create their own magical worlds full of enchantment and wonder.

Back in the real world, I am living my happily ever after in Canberra, Australia, with my husband and four children who endlessly inspire the fanciful nature of my work. 

All of my artwork is designed right here in Australia. I simply love creating for children and I hope that’s reflected in Schmooks thoughtfully designed range, made specially for the precious little ones in your life.
